Blogging Guidelines

At all times, you must obey the rules of the school and classroom.  This includes (but is not limited to) the following:

- No profanity or inappropriate language.
- No disparaging of other students, teachers or classes.
- No inappropriate media or links, including (but not limited to) pictures, video or music.

In addition, you may never mention yourselves by full name.  You may never give any personal information, including (but not limited to) your email address, which should be set to private in the settings of your blog.  Protect yourselves while you are online.

Finally, you must adhere to the tenants and format of correct English in your posts.  You will be graded on maintaining a proper focus for this blog, on following the sequence of assignments (designed to help you explore the potential of the blogosphere), and on your timeliness; but you will also be graded on your spelling, grammar, and so on (i.e., your editing skills).

In other words, present yourself as an articulate, consciously polished student — not a LOLspeaker.

Edit: For each of your posts, you must follow certain WordPress-related requirements in addition to the above (which are largely school-related or English-related).  These secondary requirements are itemized below.

  1. Create and add tags to every post.  These tags should be consistent (i.e., used more than once) but may also be comical or lengthy in nature.  Focus on relating the tags to your work, because they will pop up in the tag cloud you have added as a widget to the main page.
  2. Create categories as they become necessary, and add every post to at least one category.  These are up to you, but, again, they should be consistent.  These should not be funny or personalized particularly; instead, they should reflect the general nature of your posts (assignments, introductions, images, links, etc).

Follow all of these guidelines for links and WordPress Pages, as well.
